Retired Single Again 3
Wow, seems like only yesterday.... First, to avoid confusion, my stepfather registered me in school with his name. Guess that is why I was known as Cheryl Pollock in school. I had to take my legal name at 16 for driving purposes. Hence, the name Cheryl Anderson enters the picture. I graduated in 1977 yet the class I relate with the most is the class of 1978. Life has been a journey. With the normal ups and downs. Graduated from UW with a BASW. Career was mainly government social work field. Now retired and bored, LOL Have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. In March 2017 I had brain aneurysm surgery. At which time I had to relearn to walk and talk. What a challenging experience. Today I am grateful for my second chance at life. Hope to reconnect at reunion. God Bless. Send Cheryl a MessageSend Cheryl a Message

WOW!!!  40 years.  That went by quick.  Ok, so lets see if I can get this straight.  Shortly after graduation I moved to the Miami, FL area then to Marathon, FL. to get away from the frozen tundra.  After a couple of years I had to leave the sunny island paradise.  I'm sure because I ran out of money or we drank too many margaritas. Or both.    Who can remember that far back.  Anyway, back to the frozen tundra I went.  I moved to West Des Moines, IA after getting my Cosmetology license.  I worked for "The Barbers Hairstyling for Men and Women for 9 years as a store manager, stylist, and trainer.  In 1989,  I moved to San Antonio, TX where I attended "The University of Texas San Antonio" and recieved my degree in Business Administration/Marketing.  I started working for Allied Van Lines shortly after graduation and have been with the company for 23 years.
I've had many small pets in my time (fish, turtles, cats). I've had some boyfriends along the way too.   Some good, some not so good.  I finally met my wonderful husband in 2001. He was my everything and more.  We had 16 awesome years together until unexpectedly he passed away in 2017.  Everything is different now.  I'm just  trying to figure out who, what and where I should go from here.  Baby steps...
I can honestly say my life has been great!!  More good times than bad.  I will continue to be hopeful and push myself forward.  I enjoy golfing, fishing, gardening and grilling  out with friends.  I look forward to retirement so I can do more of the things  I enjoy. I want to travel more.  I have 6 beautiful nieces and nephews, 2 sisters, and 1 brother in the Chicagoland area and in Champaign, IL.   My Dad is still with us and will celebrate his 84th birthday this year.  They bring so much love and joy to my life.  I will be in Chicago the middle of June to see them and to do some interviewing.  I will not be able to attend the reunion this year.  I hope everyone has a wonderful time. That's all I have for now.        Christine Hindsley Kurka

40 years is a long time! So much life lived. How does one even recap all those decades?

Along the way in my mid-twenties I got married to a great guy who didn't end up my life partner, had two kids - a lovely, funny daughter now 32 living in Denver near me and husband #2 (also a great guy), and a son, 28, serving in the military as an Infantry Captain and Ranger School Trainer at Fort Benning, GA.  I have grandkids, grand nieces, a menagerie of dogs, cats, and misfits, and as many family dinners and holiday gatherings as we can get away with here. I work in the mortgage technology industry as an IT Project Manager. My teams install loan origination systems for bank clients. My only claim to fame is ending up in a book called "Weird Colorado" summarizing the restoration work I did for years on historic gravestones in Denver's old garden cemeteries.  In a few years we'll be ripe for retirement and plan to spend a lot more time on our boat in Idaho, do much more traveling (preferably across the states by RV though the hubby is pushing for more international adventure), expand the garden, learn to cook more ethnic foods, write books, ride bikes and generally try to stay out of trouble.  I did more than my share as a kid.

My last 2 years of high school were spent at Marian Central in Woodstock. But I have plenty of fun and endearing memories - kindergarten through sophomore year - with many of you. I hope the reunion is a wonderful, happy time for all.  Best to everyone.

EMS Clinical Services Manager Married 2
Fourty Year’s, wow! The week after graduation I moved to Southern California. I went to nursing school and then graduate school at San Diego State. I worked as an ICU and then Energency Department nurse for many years. Following that, after having two boys, I transitioned to working for the fire service overseeing the medical side of the 911 system. This gave me more control of my schedule so I could be involved in my kids activities.

Three years ago, I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to be closer to my son. My other son is in graduate school in Connecticut. I take the ferry across the Bay to work now.  I have a great life, one full of joyful times with family and friends. I have travelled a lot all over and discovered that memories are much more valuable than things.

I joined a dragon boat team when I moved to the Bay Area and I love it-we are competing in Ireland in September.  If you are ever in the Bay Area, get in touch. I’d love to see you and catch up. For my classmates that won’t be at the reunion, I wish you all the best.

Ophthalmic Tech/Exec Assistant Married 4
Can't believe it's 40 yrs ago we marched ourselves out of Harco High and into the world awaiting us.  We are very blessed by the heritage and memories we had in Harvard.

After 12 yrs commuting to Madison, WI and working in Ophthalmology, I am currently working as an Executive Assistant (aka secretary) locally.  We have 4 children, 3 married, 7 grandchildren (1 in heaven) and are lives are full and good.  My husband of almost 40 yrs, Cliff,  continues to work and lead our farm forward.  Our youngest son has become the next generation of farmers, representing the 4th generation.

My greatest joy in life is being a grandmother.  I cherish each minute I have with the littles that all live in other states.

Looking forward to seeing you all soon!
